I’ve been debating for weeks exactly how to start off this blog. And, while I’m sure that violates some unwritten rules of a blog, it’s totally how I roll. I’m a planner. I like to plan and plan some more. But what I want to work on is being a “do-er” as well. So, here we are.
That led to the idea of just jumping in. But the idea of just willy nilly starting on a blog with no welcome, no introduction, no by-your-leave, seemed, somehow, rude. Like walking up to a stranger at a party and continuing a conversation I hadn’t started with that person. Disorientating to say the least. And, probably a reason to take his or her drink and walk away; leaving the crazy person to talk to herself.
So, just this morning, I had the idea of writing a quick series of posts to introduce myself and the topics that are important to me. These, incidentally, happen to be the topics that I plan to cover in this blog in the future as well. But that way, the reader (whoever you may be) can read a little about me and why I like each topic, while at the same time, serve to give myself a starting place. Like, having a mutual friend introduce me to that stranger at the party. Much more comfortable, and really, the way many a long-term friendship has begun.
